(San Diego CA) July 1- I bet you all know who Toby Mac is right? The singer? The one with the albums “Momentum”, and “Diverse City?” Well what about the one with five kids? How about the one who was named one of the most influential Christian music people around? Or what about the guy who has a band of nine people including himself? Yes. It’s true. Toby Mac has eight other people in his band. Well, right now you’re about to find out a little bit more about Toby, and a lot more about his band members.

Let’s start with the keyboard; played by Dave Wyatt. He is married with three kids, is from Yorktown VA, and likes to shop at Target. He also said that if he wasn’t in this band, that he’d probably be a sushi chef because, “they always seem to have it goin’ on.” Now let’s go on to the pounding of the drums; done by Brian Haley. He’s been playing since he was four years old! He’s single and likes to drink caramel mocha frappucino’s with extra mocha and caramel drizzle from Starbucks. He is originally from St. Louis, MO, and says that the best advice he can give people is to be themselves.

Next we have bass; played by Toddiefunk. He is married and has three kids. He is from Topeka, KS. His musical inspirations include, Joni Mitchell, The Beatles, and Stevie Wonder. Next is Tim Rosenau; who plays the guitar and the trumpet. He is from Waterloo, IA, and says that his marital/family status is, “totally awesome!” In this upcoming year he looks forward to spending time with the band, and watching his daughter grow.

Now to put a spin on things, we have DJ Maj on the turntables. He is from Lafayette, LA, and has been married for twelve years. He likes to shop at thrift stores so that he can save a few bucks, and he likes to drink soy latte’s, double tall, with one pump of valencia. During touring, DJ Maj doesn’t like the bunks in the tour bus, and the back to back airplane flights, but he does like new places and people.

And now we move onto wide-range of vocals. Well as the saying goes, ladies first, we’ll start with Nirva Dorsaint. She’s been singing with Toby for six years now. She was born in Brooklyn NY, but was raised in Chicago IL. She has been married now for almost a year and she loves it. She says that she would like to be better at math and critical thinking. Shonlock, another singer, was born in Atlanta, GA, loves skittles and sour patch kids, and says that he was made to love. GabeReal, the last vocalist in the band, was born in Santa Cruz, CA, and loves to act. Currently, he’s engaged. Gabe says he’s a big kid.

Now that I’ve told you everything there is to know about the band, I guess it’s time to get on to the leader of this diverse crowd, Toby Mac himself. He has two sets of twins. Moses and Marlee, and Leo and Judah. His oldest son, Truett, or TruDog, is featured on two of his albums in Toby’s lyrics. Toby Mac is known to be a very down to earth person. Though a huge influence in contemporary Christian music, he is very approachable
