THIRD DAY RELEASED CHRISTMAS OFFERINGS OCT 10
(San Diego, Ca.) October 19, 2006 – Atlanta-based Christian rock band, Third Day releases the third installment of its platinum selling Offerings worship series, Christmas Offerings, this week amid rave reviews, sold-out tour dates and solid momentum at radio.
Allmusic.com, who gave the album a 4-star rating, says, “Third Day’s Southern rock treatment of favorite Christmas melodies is a breath of fresh holiday air for rock enthusiasts. ‘Angels We Have Heard on High’ and ‘O Come All Ye Faithful.’ The result is a collection of mostly mid-tempo drivers with plenty of buildups and cathartic climaxes. As positive reviews pour in, the band continues to impress sell-out crowds with its riveting live rock-show on the fall leg of its Wherever You Are tour. Momentum on the current radio single, “Mountain of God,” has allowed for consistent Top 5 rank on multiple charts since its release on June 23, 2006. The song has claimed the #1 spot on R&R AC Monitored, R&R AC Indicator, R&R Inspirational, CRW AC, CRW Inspirational and Billboard Hot Christian Tracks, and continues to receive some of the highest testing scores available in radio listening across the country. “Born In Bethlehem,” an original song written for Christmas Offerings, will be the first single from the Christmas worship album and will be available to all radio formats this week.
Christmas Offerings, produced by Third Day (along with help from producer/engineer Don McCollister), offers 13-songs: nine Christmas classics and four original songs written by the band. The recording process itself was also unique. While several tracks were recorded in a traditional manner, many tracks were recorded live in the studio and backed by a live audience during an intimate theater recording session at Nickel and Dime studios in the band’s hometown. Christmas Offerings will likely become this year’s most powerful Christmas album and a favorite for years to come.
Over the past decade, Third Day has amassed 22 #1 radio singles and sold almost six million albums, with RIAA certifications including one Platinum record, one Platinum DVD, and six Gold records.
