The Cardinal Rise
Featured Indie of the Month
Our second featured Indie Artist of the month is
The
Cardinal Rise
. Being together for less than a year this band has hit some quick mile marks, and is being invited to perform in venues beyond their years. When we see quick rising bands like this at Christian Music Times it’s usually because they have both the sound and the show, and that is definitely the case with The Cardinal Rise!

The Cardinal Rise has been together since May of 2006. They have played in approximately 30 shows over their first year, culminating in a 3
rd
place against 48 bands in the Battle of the Bands in Houston Texas and 1
st
place in the Austin Texas Showcase- Ignition this past year.
“As a result of our band winning the Ignition showcase in Austin, we are invited to GMA week next year in Nashville for some sort of venue. There are supposed to be record labels there, so we are excited and looking forward to it,” says Andrew.
Because of the bands chemistry and unusually good sound for such a new band, you will find the guys opening for groups such as Everyday Sunday (inpop Records), Andrew Osenga (guitarist for Cademans Call), and Inhabited (Fervent Records).
"One thing we want people to know about us is that we're not out there to help people ignore the problems in the world. We instead, want to bring people to a place where they not only can recognize the problems in life but they can also see the hope in it as well. Yeah, we have music that grooves but we'd be wasting our time if that's all we did. There's a great need to make people aware that there is hope in life, and hopefully we can be one of the ways to help make that happen."
