Switchfoot in Nashville
Switchfoot rocked the southern California flair for Nashville fans at the Journey's Backyard Barbeque. Estimated 15,000-20,000 fans attended the event to see the San Diego native band.
Families came as far as Indiana for the show. The day was stacked with motocross demos, Tony Hawk and Olympic Gold Medalist Shaun White shredding the Red Bull vert ramp, and a chance for skaters to win gear from their favorite brands. The event was one of many of a nation-wide tour partnered with companies such as Etnies's Skateboards.
Family Force 5 opened strong for Switchfoot and prior the bands: The Hot Rocks, Falling for Yesterday, and Lenny, battled for the audience's votes in a Battle of the Bands.
Switchfoot stirred fans with hit song "Stars," and even an old favorite, "Dare You to Move." The audience moshed to the Christian-rock sound and threw an array of black beach balls. The band ended the concert with giving away some of their tour products, Switchfoot shirts, hats, posters.
Their new record "Nothing is Sound" is following in the steps of their double-platinum record "The Beautiful Let Down.” Switchfoot's non-stop touring schedule has resulted in their increasing fame as a Christian band and a rock band.
The exclusively free concert in Nashville is a phenomenon for an increasingly popular band touring the nation and abroad. You can catch them next on July 7th in Costa Mesa, CA or you can go to www.switchfoot.com to catch the band's latest.
