Superchick

(San Diego CA) July 9- We staffers here at CMT love to listen to fun and upbeat music. In their new album, “Rock What You Got,” Superchick provides us with the type of music to do so. This rock, punk, hip hop group, is creating an interesting sound. Not only is their music very upbeat and original, but their words are reaching that fresh creative zone; “just be yourself, and don’t care what others think.”

We staffers feel that way too! “Don’t let others influence what you do!” member Matt says, "We've always encouraged people to go nuts with their gifts and abilities, but on this album we personally did that ourselves.” So be yourself; or in Superchick’s words, “Rock What You Got.”

We like this bands flavor. For example, in their new song, “Crawl Carry me Through,” they sing a song to Jesus. They ask Him where He is, and they ask Him if he will be there for them and carry them through when they need Him the most. They also say that even though everything else is lost, God has not lost them; He always sees them through.

It’s refreshing to hear a group singing to the Lord and not just about the Lord. In their song, “Hold!” they express how they need God’s hand to hold their hand when they are slipping away. They mix together the classic side of music with violins and pianos, with more contemporary guitars and drums.

They want youth to know that they can do anything with God, and He can do anything with them. They also encourage teens to just be themselves, and not worry about being into the latest trends or behaviors of this world. “Rock What You Got”…….. a kinda cool name.
