Prepares to Launch Dare 2 Share Tour in U.S.

October 19, 2006 (San Diego, Ca.)-

Christian rockers and a
ward-winning band, Starfield, whose critically acclaimed CD, Beauty in the Broken, ran four consecutive months as the best-selling Christian recording in Canada, recently wrapped up its coast to coast 25-city tour of the country with youth speaker David Nasser.

“This tour was transitional for Starfield, taking out a level of video and production they've never carried before, and packing out each city they visited,” says Starfield manager Chris Nichols. “The success of the tour is a testament to the band’s songs connecting with a generation of listeners longing to know and genuinely worship God.”

While on tour, more than half of the concerts sold out as the band and Nasser helped to raise overwhelming support for World Vision Canada.

“I believe Starfield and David Nasser just finished the biggest tour for World Vision's work in the history of the Canadian program…” said Mike Bowman, Director of World Vision Canada.

The tour kicked off September 29 in Nashville, TN, and continues all the way through March 2007.  Details can be found at www.starfieldonline.com and www.dare2share.org.

In addition to its touring, Starfield is nominated for five Gospel Music Association (GMA) Canada Covenant Awards (Canada’s equivalent to the GMA Music “Dove” Awards) including “Artist of the Year,” “Album of the Year” for Beauty in the Broken, “Song of the Year” for “Son of God,” “Group of the Year” and “Pop/Contemporary Album of the Year.” The awards ceremony will take place during GMA Canada Week, October 25-27.

Produced by GMA Award winning Ed Cash (Chris Tomlin, David Crowder Band, Steven Curtis Chapman) and GMA Award nominated Matt Bronleewe (Jars Of Clay, Michael W. Smith) Beauty in the Broken is the follow-up to Starfield’s critically acclaimed, self-titled debut release in 2004.  Released in May, the album not only recognizes the vastness of God in His sovereignty, but also our ability to worship this God of the universe on a deep and personal level while echoing Starfield’s skill in crafting passionate, authentic songs.  The album has also sparked radio success with the first two radio singles, “My Generation” and “Son of God,” impacting all four charts (Rock, AC, CHR, INSPO).  As “Son of God” continues to climb the charts, the band’s newest single, "Everything Is Beautiful," released to CHR and Rock radio October 6.
