Passion 2006: The CD

Sixstepsrecords recorded their ninth Passion Live album, and it is absolutely awesome. It includes the musical mastery of Chris Tomlin, David Crowder Band, Matt Redman, Charlie Hall, and others.

I personally review hundreds of CD’s every year for Christian Music Times. As a staff we review albums from all well-known Christian artists, and a huge number of growing independents, so our ears have been trained to hear talent. Passion ’06 is jam packed with talent.

There is a distinct advantage to recording in a studio. You can cut and paste only the best takes, and in-studio acoustics are very hard to match in a live environment, but Passion Live ’06 has exceeded what we have heard on many studio CD’s. Our hats are off to Producer Nathan Nockels and live engineer Shane Wilson.

We consider this a must buy for Christian contemporary enthusiasts. After buying the CD we believe you are going to be fired up about every artist and every song, but dial into the last song “Our God Reigns” by Delirious.

“Our God Reigns” includes Chris Tomlin on vocals and piano, with additional vocals from Matt Redman, Charlie Hall, and David Crowder. These are the kinds of moments that will forever be with you when you see it live. The next best thing is carrying this incredible CD in your collection. Maybe next year you’ll book your tickets early, and you’ll be there to see it live!
