Jeremy Camp Is Bringing It Home at The Festivals!

Well it’s festival season. One of my favorite times of the year, as a writer for Christian Music Times, this is the time when I can catch up with everyone on the circuit. During the tour season, we have writers catching up with Third Day, Switchfoot, Hawk Nelson, Newsboys, Krystal Myers, Plumb, Jeremy Camp and all of our many favorite artists all over the country. This is a lot of fun, but imagine the campfire talks when everyone is together at Spirit West Coast, Creation, or one of the other huge festivals throughout the country.

We had a quick chat with Jeremy Camp at Spirit West Coast in Del Mar, California. As always Jeremy is upbeat and ready to entertain, even when it’s just a couple of us standing around. He really is one of the more grounded artists out there; he’s humble and appreciative of his fans and where the Lord has taken him.

Jeremy Camp’s show was among the best I have seen in many years. His energy, and edgy rock driven sound has arrived at a whole new level. I was reminded of this when talking with Jesse; lead singer for Day Zero. He asked me whose show I thought was better, Newsboys or Jeremy’s. My response was, “man- I think they were tied. Both were absolutely awesome”. I’m a huge Newsboys fan, so this was an awakening.

Here is my recommendation to you. Be a huge servant, and buy two tickets for you and your best friend for Jeremy’s next show near you. Next, purchase his CD and listen to his song “This Man”. “This Man” is currently number 15 on Billboards Christian/Gospel Adult Contemporary chart.
