CASTING CROWNS: STILL ON TOP
(San Diego, Ca.) June 19, 2007 – The band has done it again. They have just reached RIAA Platinum status on their latest release, Lifesong Live- DVD. This recognizes shipments of over 100,000 units, and is the fourth consecutive RIAA Platinum award for each of its four releases, including the group’s two CD projects,
Lifesong
and the self-titled debut,
Casting Crowns
, and the 2004 DVD release
Casting Crowns: Live From Atlanta
.
Casting Crowns will be releasing its third studio project,
The Altar and The Door
, on August 28
th
, and then will begin their new tour from September through December. With the combination of opening acts Leeland and John Waller, the 36-city “The Altar and The Door” fall tour, presented by Aquasis, will be one of the year’s most exciting live-music events. “The Altar and The Door” Tour will visit a total of 80-cities in 2007-2008.
Over its almost four-year career, Casting Crowns has been honored with a GRAMMY Award, two American Music Award nods and 12 Gospel Music Dove Awards. Casting Crowns has been the most played artist on all Christian radio formats combined, with six consecutive No.1 AC radio hits, and the group has sold more than 2.5 million albums to date. Lead singer and songwriter Mark Hall has been a student pastor for 16 years and currently serves on staff at Eagle’s Landing First Baptist Church in Atlanta.
