(San Diego CA) June 25– With the release of their new album, “Speak Out,” the Barlow Girls speak out on things such as, love, forgiveness, and hope. Each song on their new album, which comes out on July 24th, 2008, talks about a different subject on which the girls find crises in our times. On their semi-new website, barlowgirl.com/speakout, Alyssa Barlow is found talking about new discoveries while recording their latest project.
The girls of Barlow Girl feel that when they are on stage, they don’t need to tell the audience about what God has called them to do in their lives, but about the call He has on our generation as a whole. Alyssa says, “That as we are living in such a dark world, we are all called to speak truth in the midst of deception, hope in the midst of darkness, and life in the midst of death.”
The girls believe that what’s going on in the world is becoming a negative reality, and that everyone needs to join together as one body and become, “a million voices in this world.” They encourage young people today to stand up for what they believe in, and not let others do it for them. They feel that because we live in a dark world, it’s our generation’s job to speak hope, truth, and love into it.
So come on! Join the movement! Speak out at home, school, work, or just anywhere you may be. Just like when the sisters went to the grocery store and turned all the “totally inappropriate” magazines around. That was a great example of speaking out on secular things in a real way.
Although people may have thought the girls were a tad bit crazy, they didn’t care, and neither should you! So I will leave you with this thought to ponder. ‘Do you want to just let other people speak out for you, or do you want the feeling of knowing that you yourself made a difference in this world.
