Amy Grant and Vince Gill
‘A Family that Gives Together’

Amy Grant who is known as a graceful success in both Pop and Christian Music is as busy as anyone in the industry. Her award-winning albums, and appearances around the country are being trumped by her new book due out this fall, "Mosaic: Reflections on a Life of Grace," and a new Spread the Sharing campaign that celebrates stories of sharing.

We did an article last year about her TV show “Three Wishes” and she now continues the spirit of giving that personifies Amy Grant in her mission to not only to donate food but to also collect one million stories of sharing from Americans nationwide a www.SpreadTheSharing.com. She encourages Americans to tell their stories of sharing. For every story posted online, a meal will be donated to a family in need through America's Second Harvest. The goal is to reach 1 million stories by Thanksgiving.

Christian Music Times is of course a big-fan of Amy’s, but we just wanted to do this little piece about a music family that is making a difference. Its one thing to succeed in the music industry, but it is truly refreshing to see Christian/Family values walked out in the life of a truly amazing American family.

Grant is married to musical artist Vince Gill, so her efforts to give back aren’t just a solo act, but with an enthusiastic Gill by her side they are a family that exemplifies the term “the spirit of America”. –Together, and with their daughter Corrina, they are involved in an upcoming project that encourages families across the country to play golf during "July is Family Golf Month," a PGA Play Golf America program designed to provide a structured, yet casual opportunity for families to learn the game of golf together. We guess this kind of gets the family back with those absent golf Dad’s.

Golfing enthusiasts and Grammy award winners Vince Gill and Amy Grant, along with their six-year-old daughter, Corrina Grant Gill, are the spokesfamily for the program. "Vince Gill and Amy Grant have always been great ambassadors for the game of golf. Now, they are sharing their passion with their daughter," said PGA of America President Brian Whitcomb. "We truly appreciate their support and know their involvement will inspire families everywhere to join PGA Professionals participating in 'July is Family Golf Month.”

Gill is an 18-time Grammy award-winning artist, has sold more than 22 million albums, garnered seven CMA awards and is a member of the Grand Ole Opry. Known for his charitable efforts, he was the recipient of the 2006 ACM/The Home Depot Humanitarian Award. Gill established "The Vinny," an annual pro/celebrity golf tournament to raise money for the Junior Golf program in 1993. He also participates and sponsors dozens of organized charities including programs for children, the terminally ill and the homeless, among others. For more information, visit www.vincegill.com.
